Geocache verjaardagskaartje

Naast het kaarten maken heb ik nog een hele grote hobby. Ik durf het bijna niet te zeggen, maar deze hobby begint bijna een verslaving te worden. Deze hobby heet geocachen. Heel simpel gezegd is geocachen een hobby, waarbij je met behulp van een GPS-apparaat op zoek gaat naar een bakje waar een logrolletje of logboekje in zit waar je je naam op/in mag schrijven. Voor een cache-vriendin van ons heb ik dit kaartje gemaakt. Maar ja, dat kan natuurlijk geen gewoon kaartje worden. Natuurlijk moest dit kaartje in het geocache thema gemaakt worden en daarom heeft dit kaartje iets extra's.

Besides making cards I have another big hobby. I don't want to say it, but I'm practically addicted to this hobby. This hobby is called geocaching. Simply said, geocaching is a hobby where you can find hidden boxes using a GPS-device. In these boxes you can find a logsheet or a logbook in which you can write your geocache name. You can find a full description of what geocaching is on geocaching.com.

For a cache-friend a made this card. But it isn't just a card. Of course this card had to be made in the geocache theme and therefor this card has got something extra.

Zo op het oog lijkt het een gewoon kaartje. Linkerkant kan open, rechterkant kan open en dan heb je de binnenkant. Maar is dat ook zo??? Nee, natuurlijk niet. Deze kaart heeft een verborgen stukje. Ergens zit er nog verdere informatie. Bij deze kaart moest er een QR-code gezocht worden. Maar waar zit deze??

This card looks just normal. Opening the left side of the card and opening the right side of the card and the inside of the card is shown. But is it just a normal card?? No, of course not. This card has a hidden compartement. Somewhere in this card is some extra information. At this card our friend had to find a QR-code. But where is it??

Bij het geocachen staan hints altijd in ROT13 versleuteld. ROT13 is een versleuteling waarbij de letters A en N omgedraaid worden, de letters B en O, de letters C en P, dus waar "ibhj" staat, staat eigenlijk "vouw". En zo kan de hele hint ontcijferd worden.

With geocaching hints are always encrypted with ROT13. ROT13 is an encryption key in which letters are switched, so the letter A and N are switched, the letters B and O, the letters C and P and so on. So where on this card it says "ibhj" it really means "vouw" (which means fold). And this way the whole hint can be decrypted.

En dit is dan de verborgen ruimte. Ik vond dit kaartje op youtube (en ook hoe dit kaartje in beeld eruit ziet). Heel simpel om te maken en erg leuk om te geven (tenminste dat vinden wij). 

On this picture you can see the hidden compartement. I found the way this card is made (and showing how this card works) on youtube. And it's so easy to make, but fun to give (at least, I think so).

Uitnodigingskaartje

Over een weekje hebben we een tiener in huis. Onze oudste dochter wordt dan namelijk 10 jaar. Een cliché, maar zo waar; wat is de tijd toch snel gegaan!! 

Natuurlijk wil ze weer een verjaardagsfeestje geven en daarvoor mocht ik weer de kaartjes maken. En daarvoor koos zij deze vorm. Erg veel werk, maar zij wou het graag. 

In about one week we have a teenager at home. Our eldest daughter will turn 10 years already. This may sound like a cliché, but time has gone by very quickly!!!

Of course she wants to have a birthday party, so I had to make the invitations, she choose the shape of this one. A lot of work, but that's what she has chosen.

Ik heb geen flauw idee meer waar ik het patroon voor dit kaartje vandaag heb, maar erg moeilijk maken is het helemaal niet. Ik heb het als volgt gemaakt:

- Snij 4 stroken cardstock van 6,9 cm x 14 cm.

- Ril deze op 3,5 cm en op 10,5 cm.

- Leg 2 stroken verticaal voor je neer

- Plak vervolgens de andere 2 stroken horizontaal erop. LET OP!!! Plak alleen de hoeken vast (dus de hoeken rechts onder en boven en links onder en boven, ongeveer 3x3 cm)

- Vervolgens kun je de vouwkaart aankleden zoals je zelf wilt.

I haven't got the faintest idea how I've found the template of this card (I've made a years ago), but it isn't very hard to do. I've made it this way:

- Cut 4 strips cardstock 6,9cm x 14cm

- Scor at 3,5cm and 10,5cm

- Place 2 strips vertically at your table

- The next step is to glue the other 2 strips horizontally. PAY ATTENTION!!!! Just glue the 4 corners (so the corners at the top and bottom, approx. 3x3 cm)

-And now your card is ready to decorate.

1e kerstkaartje dit jaar

De mussen vallen bijna dood van het dak en ik maak een kerstkaartje, haha. Dat krijg je als je meedoet met een kaartenketting. Ditmaal voor de club van Tiets, met als thema (hoe kan het anders) Kerst.

Dit kaartje heb ik dus gemaakt voor iemand die ook meedoet aan de ketting en heb dit kaartje naar haar verstuurd, samen met een pakketje met materialen die ik heb gebruikt om dit kaartje te maken.

Jacobsladder

Begin juni vertelde ik dat de gastouder van onze kinderen een dochter had gekregen. Ik heb toen een geboortekaartje gemaakt en gestuurd naar ze.

Natuurlijk moesten we ook even naar de baby kijken en zijn we dus op kraamvisite geweest. Daar horen natuurlijk ook cadeautjes bij.

Early june I've told you that the person who cares for our children when I'm working had a little girl. I've made a card for her birth.

Of course we had to go and visit this person and her newborn babygirl. And with a visit becomes present.

Een van de cadeautjes in het hele pakket was deze jacobsladder. Een jacobsladder is erg leuk, zowel om te maken, als om mee te spelen. In dit filmpje zie je hoe een jacobsladder werkt en hoe je deze maakt.

Summer Time

Het lukt me de laatste weken niet echt. Alles wat ik maak gaat met grote moeite. Gelukkig is deze nog wel weer redelijk gelukt!! Voor clubs maakte ik vandaag dit kaartje. Het thema was zomer en wat is er zomerser dan ijs!!!

The last weeks I've found it very hard to make nice cards/projects. Luckily this one turned out pretty nice!! I've made this card for Clubs.nl again. This time the theme we had to make tehe card with was Summer. Well, what's more summer than Ice Cream!!!

Het afdrukje van Magnolia wat ik voor dit kaartje gebruikt heb bestaat uit 2 stempels. Deze heb ik gemaskerd, zodat het lijkt alsof het 1 geheel is. Erg leuk om te doen. 

The stamp I've used for this card consist of 2 stamps. I've masked these two stamps, so it looks like one. This is a very nice way to stamp!!

Het ijsje dat ik gebruikt heb op de kaart komt gewoon van google. Ik heb als zoekopdracht "ijsje kleurplaat" gegeven en toen kwam er een leuke kleurplaat die goed dienst kon doen als patroon. Hoe makkelijk kun je het maken?

I've created the iceCream with Google. I've search for an image with the words "Ice cream coloring" and I found an image that would work very well as a template. How easy can it be??

Geboortekaartje

Onze jongste dochter Nova gaat als ik werk naar een hele lieve gastouder. En deze gastouder is afgelopen week bevallen van een dochter. Natuurlijk moest daar dan even een mooi kaartje voor gemaakt worden. Een heel kraampakket gaat ook nog komen, want voordat Nova weer naar deze gastouder toe gaat, moeten we natuurlijk nog wel eerst even naar de baby kijken.

When I have to work our daughter Nova stays with a mother who cares for her the hours I'm away. This mother gave birth to a little girl last week. Of course I had to make a beautiful card for her.

Before she can take care of my daughter again we will visit her and bring a lot of presents. Those you will see later on.

Ik ben gek op de illustraties van Betje. En laat Betje nu ook nog eens stempels hebben uitgegeven. Natuurlijk moest ik die dus hebben. De ooievaar met het babytje in de ringsling was de eerste die ik moest en zou hebben. Al is het alleen al omdat er juist gebruik gemaakt wordt van een ringsling. Geweldig!! Ook de gastouder vind het dragen in een draagdoek erg leuk, dus dit stempeltje vond ik erg geschikt voor dit kaartje.

I just love the illustrations made by Betje. And just a month ago Betje made stamps with those illustrations. So I just had to buy them. The stork (is this the right word for this bird??) with the baby in the ringsling was the first stamp I just had to have, just because Betje works with a ringsling. I just love anything that has to do with carrying your child.

This mother who cares for Nova also loves to carry her child in a sling, so this stamp fits the card perfectly.

Quiltkaart

In mijn vorige bericht zei ik het al. Dit is een kaartje, gemaakt voor mijn schoonmoeder. Mijn schoonmoeder maakt ontzettend graag quilts. Dan wel de echte, handgemaakte, stoffen quilts. Er komt geen naaimachine aan te pas. 

Ik ben echter niet zo heel handig met naald en draad, maar wel met papier. Dus ik besloot voor haar verjaardag een quilt te maken van papier. En het resultaat vind ik erg leuk geworden.

I've wrote it down in my last post. I've made this card for my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law loves to make quilts. And they are the real deal. Real, handmade, quilts, made with different kinds of fabric. No sewing machine is handed, it's all made by hand.

I'm not that handy with needle and threat, I love to make things with paper. So I've decided to make a paper quilt for her. And I love how it worked out.

Ik ben begonnen om 25 kleine vierkantjes uit verschillende papiertjes te snijden, vierkantjes van 2 cm x 2 cm. Deze heb ik allemaal even beïnkt en op een stukje papier van 10x10 cm geplakt. Het geheel heb ik met een embossingmal door de cuttlebug gedraaid. Zo kreeg ik een leuk quiltje.

Vervolgens heb ik dit weer op een kaartje van 10,5 cm x 10,5 cm geplakt en dat weer op een kaartje van 11 cm x 11 cm. Dit geheel heb ik op een vierkante kaart geplakt en verder afgewerkt.

I've started with 25 little squares, cut out of different kind of papers, little squares measured 2 cm x 2 cm. I've inkted thes squares and glued them on a piece of thin paper, 10 cm x 10 cm. 

Next I've embossed this in a embossing folder through the cuttlebug. This way I finished with a little quilt.

Then I've glued this on a card 10,5 cm x 10,5 cm and this on a card 11 cm x 11 cm. This I've glued on a square card and finished it of with different details.

Ja, ik heb gezegd dat het volgende project een quiltkaartje zou zijn, maar daar is even deze kaart tussendoor gekomen. Deze kaart heb ik gemaakt voor (ja alweer) clubs. Ik deed daar weer mee aan een ketting, dit maal met het thema lente. Ik vind deze kaart zo gaaf geworden!!!

Paasei schuifkaart

Na de paasmandjes uit vorige post heb ik nu een paasei gemaakt. Dit paasei zag ik op de blog van Sandra (Sandra's scrapsels). Daar kun je ook het patroon voor deze kaart kopen. Er staan nog veel meer mooie dingen daar. Echt de moeite eens om er te kijken.

After the easter baskets from last post I've made an easter egg. I've seen this easter egg on Sandra's blog (Sandra's scrapsels). Op google heb ik gezocht naar een leuke tekst en na een lange zoektocht heb ik deze tekst gevonden. Ik heb deze in Word getyped en daarbij gebruik gemaakt van 2 verschillende lettertypes en lettergroottes, zodat je een leuk effect krijgt.

Paasmandjes

Genieten jullie al van het voorjaar??? We hebben al een paar heerlijke dagen met zonneschijn en lekkere temperaturen gehad. We mogen hopen dat er nog heeeeel veel van dat soort lekker dagen gauw komen.

Afgelopen 2 weken ben ik bezig geweest met deze paasmandjes. De werkbeschrijving voor dit paasmandje heb ik zo'n 5 jaar geleden al eens opgeslagen. Helaas weet ik niet meer waar dit patroon vandaan komt (als iemand dat wel weet dan hoor ik dat graag, dan kan ik dat hier vermelden).

The last 2 weeks I've been busy making these easterbaskets. About 5 years ago I saved the way how to make this basket. Where I've got it from I don't know anymore. If anyone can tell me, I would appreciate it very much.

Het mandje wordt gemaakt uit 14 stroken scrappapier. Deze stroken worden allemaal beïnkt met de kleine Distress inktjes en daarna in elkaar gevlochten.

This basket is made of 14 stripes of scrappaper. I've worked those stipes with distress Ink and then I've braided those stripes to one basket.

Ik heb de drie mandjes allen verschillend proberen te decoreren. Natuurlijk heb ik gebruik gemaakt van een paar Magnolia stempels. Deze heb ik ingekleurd met Derwent. Op de andere 2 heb ik voor de verandering eens een keer gewerkt met 3D. 

I've tried to decorate the 3 baskets differently. Of course I've used Magnolia stamps on one of them. I've colored these with Derwent. On the other 2 basket I've used 3D. 

De lijst met gebruikte dingen is dit keer wat langer dus ik splits deze in 2 blokjes.

Ook heb ik afgelopen week een kaart gemaakt in de vorm van een paasei. Helaas is deze nog steeds niet klaar. Ik wacht nog op een besteld artikel, waarmee ik deze af kan maken. Deze kaart zal ik de volgende keer aan jullie laten zien.

Last week I've made a card easter-egg-shaped. Unfortunately it isn't ready yet. I'm waiting for a stamp which I've ordered, with which I can finish this card. I will show this card to you next time.
